Pulmolingua is a sound installation composed of a suspended, modular metal structure activated by surface exciters. Sound travels through and vibrates the structure, turning the metal itself into both a resonating body and a source of sound. Drawing from the language of ventilation systems and bodily anatomy, the work considers the architectural object as something capable of breathing, carrying and producing sound. Sound moves between internal pressure, airflow and fragments of speech, giving the structure an ambiguous presence somewhere between infrastructure, instrument and organism.
