SPACE AND SAPIENS:
A Comparison of Philosophical
Approaches with the New Cognitive Approaches to
Space

Today, with the emergence of cognitive science, we have just started to understand how the minds of humans process sensory information and therefore, how they perceive the sensory-emotive world that they daily inhabit.
The aim in this dissertation was finding correspondence between philosophical suggestions around the topic of space and humans with the new cognitive finds. The journey was a search of how the juxtaposition of philosophy and cognitive science could enhance the design of our built environments channelling architecture into a more human-centred direction.
